Catholic Institute won the Irish Senior Cup for the first time last season at Belfield
HOLDERS Catholic Institute entertain Leinster side Old Alex in the quarter-final of the Irish Senior Cup this Saturday.
In the previous round, Institute defeated another Leinster side, Pembroke Wanderers 2-1.
Hit off this Saturday in the big Cup tie at Rosbrien is at 1pm.
All-Ireland Senior Hockey League:
Meanwhile, after eight series of games, Catholic Institute are undefeated and are top of the league on 19 points, one point ahead of Leinster side Loretto.
In their last league outing, Institute had a 3-2 win at home over Ulster side Ards.
Last season, Institute were runners up in the league and so qualified for the European Championships which will be held in Turkey in the spring.
International players:
Institute added to their list of senior international players when Lizza Ryan was selected on the USA team for their recent tour of Holland and Belgium.
The Institute side already includes Irish internationals Roisin Upton and Naomi Carroll.
