THE 2019 Bord Gáis Energy All-Ireland U20 Hurling Championship was officially launched this Wednesday with a Limerick hurler among the new line-up of U20 ambassadors for the forthcoming season.
Adare and Limerick U20 hurler Ronan Connolly attended the launch at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin’s Grand Canal Square.
Connolly was part of John Kiely's Allianz Hurling League panel but didn't make the cut for the championship panel and will now be part of Paul Beary's Limerick U20 panel for 2019.
Limerick will play Cork in the Munster Championship on July 3.
This year’s competition marks the first campaign under the new U20 grade, with Carlow and Antrim opening proceedings on May 25 in the first round of the Leinster Championship.
Entering its 11th year as title sponsor of the competition, Bord Gáis Energy announced it's all new line-up of U20 ambassadors for the forthcoming season with Ronan Connolly following in the footsteps of previous Limerick ambassadors like Kyle Hayes, Peter Casey and Cian Lynch.
