GARDAI are investigating after the strange theft of a recovery truck in the middle of the day in Limerick city.
A post was put on social media just 20 minutes after the lorry was stolen last Thursday afternoon. A photo of the recovery truck was shared and people asked to keep an eye out for it.
Following a query from Limerick Live, a garda spokesperson confirmed gardaí in Limerick are investigating the unauthorised taking of a recovery vehicle.
“It occurred shortly before 1pm on Thursday, March 12 on William Street, Limerick city.
“The vehicle was driven for a short distance before it was abandoned,” said the garda spokesperson.

The vehicle has since been technically examined for possible forensic evidence.
“Investigations into the incident are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.
Anybody who was in the William Street area last Thursday and saw the theft of the recovery truck, or were driving and have dash-cam footage of the incident, is asked to contact investigating gardai in Henry Street on 061 212400.
