Man of the Match Diarmaid Byrnes celebrates scoring a late point
LIMERICK defeated Tipperary for the first time in 12 years in the group stages of the Allianz Hurling League on Saturday evening.
The 1-21 to 1-14 victory for John Kiely's men marked the first game back in the Gaelic Grounds for top flight round robin series of league hurling since 2010.
The All-Ireland champions were a point in arrears at half time but out-scored Liam Sheedy's side 0-13 to 0-5 in the second half before a crowd of 8,559 in the round two Division 1A contest.
