Limerick Greyhound Stadium
THERE was disappointment late on Tuesday night for Ballybrown GAA club as their assigned greyhound in the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial stake, Doggy McDog Face, was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Owned by the Dog Father syndicate, Doggy McDog Face, was due to race in the quarter finals of the event this Saturday night at Limerick Greyhound stadium.
However, a torn ligament has resulted is his withdrawal from the race, with the Limerick Greyhound stadium confirming that the trap will now remain vacant.
The event, which is sponsored by JP and Noreen McManus, also offers local GAA clubs the opportunity to share in a €20,000 nominators prize fund.
There are now just 23 dogs/gaa clubs left in the hunt for the top prize.
@Bailebrun2014 Hi folks! We received some bad news regarding Doggy today, it seems he injured a ligament in the last race which would be made worse by further running in the short term..we have decided under Vets advice to pull him from the Con & Annie Kirby to allow him to heal
