Doggy McDog Face forced to withdraw from Con & Annie Kirby Memorial

THERE was disappointment late on Tuesday night for Ballybrown GAA club as their assigned greyhound in the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial stake, Doggy McDog Face, was forced to withdraw due to injury. 

Owned by the Dog Father syndicate, Doggy McDog Face, was due to race in the quarter finals of the event this Saturday night at Limerick Greyhound stadium.

However, a torn ligament has resulted is his withdrawal from the race, with the Limerick Greyhound stadium confirming that the trap will now remain vacant. 

The event, which is sponsored by JP and Noreen McManus, also offers local GAA clubs the opportunity to share in a €20,000 nominators prize fund.

There are now just 23 dogs/gaa clubs left in the hunt for the top prize. 

HEAT 1: Greenisle Athena (Dromin-Athlacca GAA); Glanmire Dylan (St Kierans GAA), Pennylane Masara (St Senans GAA), Bonus Point (Banogue GAA), Droopys Biker (Knockaderry GAA), Cash Is King (Cappamore GAA). 
HEAT 2: Vacant Trap, Slippy Cian (Fedamore GAA), Toolmaker Maxwel (Murroe-Bother GAA), Lough Gur Danny (Patrickswell Camogie), Cliffords Pick (Mountcollins GAA), Rocket Heart (Tournafulla GAA).
HEAT 3: Crossfield Will (Newcastle West GAA), Da Head Hunter, Chespirito (Granagh-Ballingarry Camogie), Droopys Steel (Killeedy GAA, Blue East (Caherline GAA), Droopys Davy (Cappagh GAA) .
HEAT 4: Coolavanny Arkle (Caherconlish GAA), Burgess Brandy (Knockane GAA), Master Jingles (Staker Wallace GAA), Beaming Paradise (Claughaun GAA), Minor Mike (Granagh-Ballingarry GAA), Lemon Shane (Ballybricken-Bohermore GAA).
