Lewis Walker snatched a last-gasp equaliser for Braintree as they held fellow National League relegation battlers Morecambe to a 1-1 draw.
The resurgent Shrimpers looked to be on course for a third straight win under Jim Bentley, who returned on a rescue mission last month, with Jack Nolan converting an 87th-minute penalty.
Three points would have lifted the hosts above Brackley and out of the bottom four but they were unable to hang on after seven minutes of stoppage time were added.
Braintree goalkeeper Mason Terry, who had earlier made an outstanding save from Chris Popov, was sent up for a late corner and provided the assist for Walker to salvage a vital point for Steve Pitt’s side.
