Cheltenham extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a 2-0 win at Shrewsbury.
Both goals came in the second half, with Jordan Thomas and Sam Sherring securing the Robins’ first away success of 2026.
The first half was devoid of clear-cut chances, but Cheltenham dominated possession against a Shrews team vastly-improved under Gavin Cowan.
They had won six of their previous seven and Tommy McDermott fired wide from a good position in the fourth minute as they came close to opening the scoring.
Isaac Hutchinson shot straight at Matthew Cox at the other end shortly afterwards.
A long-range free-kick from Shrewsbury’s Iwan Morgan clipped the crossbar on its way over in the 18th minute.
But Cheltenham opened the scoring in the 63rd minute when Josh Davison nodded the ball into Thomas’s path and he found the bottom-right corner from outside the penalty area.
The lead was doubled when Sherring stroked in Luke Young’s corner with a neat low finish in the 71st minute, lifting Cheltenham above Shrewsbury and into 17th place.
