Benony Breki Andresson scored a stoppage-time winner for Stockport to snatch a 1-0 win over promotion rivals Huddersfield.
Ollie Norwood’s strike from the edge of the box from a set piece was the only real moment of threat from either side in a first half Stockport dominated, but Terriers defender Joe Low got up to make sure the ball went off target.
Stockport’s Odin Bailey tried his luck from outside the area as the stalemate continued into the second half, but he was denied by a good low stop from Lee Nicholls.
Huddersfield struggled to create meaningful chances but were able to carve Stockport open on the counter-attack with 18 minutes to go.
Substitute Will Alves got to the byline and cut the ball back for Bojan Radulovic, but his shot was blocked close to the line and Dion Charles was unable to get a shot away from the rebound.
A well-worked free-kick in the sixth minute of time added on produced Stockport’s winner as substitute Andresson stole in at the back post to finish Jid Okeke’s cross.
