Harvey Gilmour scored a brilliant winner as National League leaders Rochdale beat Morecambe 2-1.
Morecambe had the better of the first half, with Emmerson Sutton and Jack Nolan prominent, but conceded a penalty shortly before the break.
Jamal Blackman saved from Connor McBride and, having been deemed to move off his line early, also thwarted Joe Pritchard from the retake.
Dale did take the lead on 45 minutes, though, with veteran striker Ian Henderson running on to keeper Nathan Broome’s long ball and sending a well-judged lob over Blackman.
Nolan equalised from a free-kick early in the second half and Blackman impressively denied Henderson’s replacement Tyler Smith but Gilmour curled home a superb second for Dale in the 80th minute.
