Karl Robinson was delighted after Salford booked their place in the FA Cup third round with a 4-0 dismantling of Leyton Orient.
Salford opened the scoring after 23 minutes when Orient goalkeeper Killian Cahill diverted a low cross from Kadeem Harris into his own net.
Karl Robinson’s side added a second after 61 minutes when Kallum Cesay’s low, curling shot was turned home by Kelly N’mai.
Salford moved further ahead after 87 minutes on the clock when Fabio Bornini turned the ball home from close range before N’mai added the gloss to a complete Salford performance in stoppage time with a cool, sweeping finish.
Robinson joked that his team would be better suited to playing in the third tier after claiming their second League One scalp.
He said: “I’m very pleased with our performance and the players have fully put the game plan together today.
“We have now beaten the team who were top of League One in Lincoln and the leading goalscorers in the division above in Leyton Orient.
“Our team played with a cheeky swagger and Kallum Cesay was excellent.
“He has come here from non-league and has got 10 goal involvements before Christmas. Kallum has an unbelievable future ahead of him.
“We have got a fantastic team and have just got to get into the league above – then we’ll be alright.”
Leyton Orient boss Richie Wellens slammed his players’ “embarrassing and shambolic” performance.
He said: “We were nowhere near good enough. Slow, boring and played with no tempo or desire.
“For as bad as we were, you have to give Salford credit, they were very good, bright, and wanted to play.
“When you get so many players that are new to the club, you get inconsistencies.
“In terms of intensity, endurance, all the basics of the game, we were well off it.”
