Precise tops 11 hunting Fillies’ Mile prize

Precise heads a field of 11 for the bet365 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket on Friday.

Aidan O’Brien’s filly was last seen taking the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh, prior to which she was the winner of the Group Three Prestige Fillies’ Stakes at Goodwood in August.

She steps up a furlong in trip on the Rowley Mile and is one of four Ballydoyle entrants as Debutante Stakes winner Composing and Newtownanner Stud Stakes runner-up Moments Of Joy are both due to run alongside May Hill third Sugar Island.

Also popular in the market at this stage is John and Thady Gosden’s Legacy Link, with Charlie Appleby’s Dance To The Music prominent too given her Sweet Solera Stakes victory.

Joseph O’Brien’s Queen Of Hawaii, Karl Burke’s Evolutionist, Sir Mark Prescott’s Moon Target and the Charlie Johnston duo of Amora Queen and Venetian Lace complete the field.

The Group Two Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards Challenge Stakes has attracted a small field of five, with Harry Charlton’s Cosmic Year aiming to return to form when taking on French raider Beauvatier, Burke’s Poet Master, William Haggas’ Scoville and the Gosden-trained Audience.

There are three Group Three events on the card, with the Newmarket Academy Godolphin Beacon Project Cornwallis Stakes field currently topped by the O’Brien-trained Brussels, and the Godolphin Lifetime Care Oh So Sharp Stakes and Newmarket Pony Academy Pride Stakes run at the same level.
