LIMERICK’s Jodie Griffin, Jenna Slattery, Nicole McNamara have won the All-Island Cup with Galway Utd.
This is the team's first time ever winning sliver-ware with a 1-0 win over Cliftonville at the Sligo Showgrounds.
All three of the Limerick girls made an appearance in the game with Slattery starting and both Griffin and McNamara coming off the bench in the second-half.
Former Treaty player, Jenna Slattery signed with Galway WFC last year after scoring 10 goals for the Limerick club in an otherwise dismal year for them. She was quickly promoted to the Senior team in Galway after her signing.
Young Jodie Griffin followed a similar route to Slattery. After only turning 17, she was promoted to the Galway United Senior Women’s squad after making one appearance for Galway WFC in 2022.
Nicole McNamara began her underage career with Ballingarry AFC before moving on to play for Treaty. Much like the progress of the other two Limerick girls, McNamara signed for Galway WFC in 2022 before progressing onto the Senior team.
This historic win for Galway Utd comes after only six months into their debut season in the Women’s Premier Division.
