TREATY United are still seeking their first win of the SSE Airtricity League First Division season as Tommy Barrett's charges make the trip to the Midlands to face Athlone Town this Friday, St Patrick's Day, 7.45pm.

Treaty head into the game on the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Cobh Ramblers at the Markets Field in their most recent league outing.

While Cobh were flattered by the margin of their victory, Treaty will be feel more than a degree of frustration at having lost their opening two home league fixtures this term. Treaty Utd have now picked up just one point from their opening four games.

Manager Tommy Barrett is confident Treaty can achieve their first win of the league campaign soon

“For the first 60 minutes (v Cobh ramblers) we were definitely the better team, but we are just not getting the bounce of the ball at the moment. It is way too early to get worried. When we were flying ahead the last two years people were on to me saying we were in the playoff positions after five or six games, but what good is that?

“I always say, and I always will say, let’s see where we are after 10 of 15 games! And that was in a 27- and a 32-game league, so let’s see where we are after 16 or 17 games. After 18 games you might go up or down a place or two but that is generally where you will finish so judge us after that."
