TREATY United suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bohemians in their 2023 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division opening weekend fixture at the Markets Field on Saturday afternoon.
The only game of the game arrived in the 63rd minute when Bohemians' players Rachel Doyle converted from the penalty spot following a hand ball.
The sides had been deadlocked at 0-0 at half-time in an entertaining contest.
There is a new manager at the helm at Treaty United this season with Alban Hysa looking to lift the Limerick side after doing excellent work at underage level with Peamount United.
A number of North American players have arrived at Treaty United this season, including former Republic of Ireland WNT international Ciara McCormack, but the side is also looking to highly-rated local talent like Katie Lawlee and Heidi O'Sullivan could pay off.
The new-look Treaty United side will be encouraged by their battling display at the Markets Field on Saturday evening.
Treaty United's second outing in the Women’s Premier Division season is away to Shamrock Rovers in Dublin on Saturday at 5.30pm.
