THREE LIMERICK clubs could be in for a red letter weekend in this weekend's National Basketball Championships semi finals in Cork.
Limerick Celtics lead the way with three teams aiming to reach their respective finals. The club's senior wheelchair side, U18 girls and U18 boys all take to the court to try and reach the finals weekend on January 21 and 22 in Dublin. Limerick Lions and Limerick Sport Huskies also have teams in action.
Up first is the Limerick Celtics senior wheelchair team. They face off against Killester in the Upper Glanmire venue at 10am. Action then moves over to the Parochial Hall in Cork where the U18 girls take on Brunell in their semi final. On Sunday, the U18 boys outfit meet Dublin Lions at the Parochial Hall at 11am.
Celtics are not the only Limerick club looking to reach the National Finals in Cork with the Limerick Lions in action in the U18 men's semi final against Templeogue at the Parochial Hall. That game has a 5:30pm start.
The Limerick Sport Huskies are also bidding to reach a final in Cork when they play Dublin Lions in Upper Glanmire on Sunday at 3pm in the U20 women's semi final.
