THE energia All-Ireland League action resumes this Saturday with Limerick's six senior clubs facing crucial fixtures.
In Division 1A, fourth-placed Shannon with two wins from their opening three round robin fixtures, face a long trip to Ballymacarn Park where they will take on Ballynahinch.
Shannnon will be looking to bounce back to winning ways following their home defeat to City of Armagh last time out on the back pitch at Thomond Park.
The away side took a grip on the game in the opening half after which they enjoyed a 14-point advantage, 17-3.
Shannon were desperate to get a quick start to the second period and it arrived in the form of a penalty goal from John O'Sullivan followed by a 67th minute try from Tony Cusack f. O’Sullivan's conversion left just four points between the sides, at 13-17.
However, it was City of Armagh who regained the initiative and a penalty goal followed by a further try pushed their advantage out to 12 points.
Also in Division 1A this Saturday, Young Munster will be looking to build upon their victory over Dublin University in their most recent fixture when hosting Clontarf in a crucial fixture at Tom Clifford Park.
Three-try Young Munster recorded their first win of the campaign when easing past the Dublin students 22-8 at College Park last time out.
Stephen McLoughlin, Ruadhan Quinn and James Horrigan scored tries for Munsters’ in the second half, while Aidan Shortall kicked two conversions and a penalty.
In Division 1B this Saturday, ninth-placed Garryowen host third-placed Old Wesley at Dooradoyle.
Garryowen came away from Dub Lane with a try bonus point after crossing the whitewash five times in a 41-32 defeat to Queen's University Belfast in a high-scoring contest last time out. The light Blues led 15-8 at half time and had tries from Dean Fanning, Donnacha Byrne, Colm Quilligan, Nicky Greene and Kyle Read. Kelvin Langan kicked two conversions and a penalty.
In Division 2A this Saturday, third-placed UL-Bohemian host Greystones in fourth at Annacotty at 2.30pm.
UL-Bohs recorded a hugely impressive 31-21 bonus point victory away to Malone last time out.
The Red, Red Robins scored five tries with Tadhg Walsh, Paul Clancy, Liam Neilan and Darragh O’Gorman all dotting down, while they were also awarded a penalty try.
Also in 2A this Saturday, ninth-placed Old Crescent entertain Nenagh Ormond at Takumi Park. Old Crescent shipped a heavy 34-10 defeat away to Ballymena at Eaton Park in their last AIL fixture.
John Toland crossed for a try for Crescent, while Ronan McKenna added a conversion and also kicked a penalty.
In Division 2C on Saturday, in-form Bruff travel to Crowley Park to face Galwegians.
Third-placed Bruff scored an impressive 29-15 victory over Bangor last time out. Mark Fitzgerald bagged a brace of tries, while Adam Murphy Casey and Cillian Rea also crossed the whitewash for Bruff.
