MUNSTER centre, Stephanie Carroll, is looking forward to the challenge of playing Connacht at home in Musgrave Park this Saturday.

The province got their Interpro campaign off to a winning start last weekend with a hard fought 41-14 win over Ulster away.

Carroll was awarded Vodafone Player of the Match after scoring a hat-trick of tries and is hoping to maintain this run of form for the next fixture.

Originally from Limerick and after playing GAA with the county for ten years before turning her full attention to rugby, Carroll is no stranger to playing sports at the highest levels.

Carroll said: "We are back-to-back champions now in the Interpros and we are building each week. The games are going to be tough, every team is getting better and better. There is definitely a target on our backs but the younger players coming through our team have helped us step up again this year."

Their opponents this weekend, Connacht, recorded an incredible one point victory over Leinster in their opening fixture and will be coming into this game full of confidence.

The number 12 is under no illusion about the size of the task facing Munster this weekend.

"Connacht are a great side and are getting better every season," Stephanie Carroll said.

"They have Laura Feely and Larissa Muldoon after joining their background team, two previous Irish internationals so I think this game is not going to be easy. Competitive games is what we want but our aim is to beat them at home and keep our winning record going."

Munster Rugby's women game this weekend will be shown live on TG4 at 12:45pm on Saturday.
