On The Nail: The Limerick Writers centre is a non-profit organisation established to nurture and support writers, fostering literary excellence through readings, workshops and publishing activities. Supporting Arts and Culture in Limerick since 2008. The Limerick Writers Centre presents the January 2014 ‘On The Nail’ Literary Gathering on Tuesday 14th January at the Loft Venue in the Locke Bar Georges Quay at 8pm sharp! This month our guests are Fred Johnston and Thaddeus Lovecraft followed by the open-mic session. Everyone is invited to take part in the open-mic after the main event, poets, storytellers, musicians and writers. Even if you don’t write you are welcome to bring along something to read. The night begins at 8pm and admission is free. So join us on the night to make this event something special. Our special authors table will again be in operation, so if you want to your book, CD’s etc. publicised make sure you are represented at the table. Yarn bombing: Limerick- A well-Knit City is a ‘yarn bombing’ project to celebrate learning and friendship in adult community education across Limerick City. Would you like to be involved? Yes, then knit or crotchet a square or circle minimum size 8x8inches in any colour. Make as many as you like, the more the better! You can bring them along to your local community centre for collection. Start now! These will be sewn together to decorate some of our local Limerick landmarks in a fun and colourful way on Wednesday February 26th to mark Aontas Adult Learner Festival 2014.
