ALERT! Irish customers warned to stop using popular deodorant after reports of chemical burns

Irish customers have been warned to stop using Mitchum deodorant immediately after multiple reports and complaints have been by customers who have experienced chemical burns and scarring after using the popular product.

Mitchum, founded in 1959 in Tennessee in the United States, is a popular brand among Irish customers with thousands of their products sold every year from retailers like Boots and Tesco.

A spokesperson for the company has said that while the "formula hasn't changed, a change in the manufacturing process of one of our raw materials has altered how the product interacts with the skin in some consumers. That change didn't meet our standards our yours"

The company has posted an apology on their Instagram page along with a photo of the affected products.

Hundreds of comments flooded in after the apology was posted with many customers frustrated and angry over the harm the products have caused.

One user replied, "Finally you’ve made a statement about it. This doesn’t take away from the fact that I’ve literally been left with scarring. I’m sure many others have too. “Temporary irritation” is an absolute joke, irritation is not the word. Try burns, blisters, scabs, now scars. I’ll never buy another Mitchum product again."

Another said, "So this explains why my breastfed baby has been getting sores on his face! I've been using deodorant with one of these batch codes!!"

Mitchum has said that it has reverted to its "original process to make sure current and future batches meet the high standards you expect from us," adding the issue was "limited to a small number of batches", something that many customers have refutes in the comments.

The company also said it is "actively working to remove these batches from shelves".
