Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with an incident involving the discharge of a firearm at a residential location in Co Westmeath.
Gardai said the incident happened at around 1.40pm on Monday in Mullingar. No injuries were reported.
Two men, aged in their late teens, were arrested and are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at a Garda station in Co Westmeath.
Gardai are appealing for anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
Anyone who was in the Ardleigh Park area of Mullingar between 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Monday and who may have witnessed the incident should contact investigating gardai.
Any road users who were travelling in the vicinity at the time, and who may have camera footage including dashcam, are also asked to make the footage available to gardai.
