The search for Fiona Booth, 50, has been stood down following the discovery of a body
A garda appeal for assistance in locating a 50-year-old woman who had not been seen for several days has been stood down following the discovery of a body.
In an appeal, issued on Saturday evening, gardai said Fiona Booth was last seen in the Gowran area of Kilkenny on Tuesday morning last.
Concerns were expressed for her well-being and in an update, issued this Sunday night, gardai confirmed the search has now been stood down.
"Following the discovery of a woman’s body, the missing person appeal for Fiona Booth (50) who was reported missing from her home in Gowran, County Kilkenny on Friday, February 7 2025, has been stood down," said a spokesperson in a brief statement.

No further information has been disclosed publicly but gardai have thanks members of the public and media for their assistance during the appeal.
It's understood a file will now be prepared for the local coroner.
