BREAKING: Man tragically killed after tree falls on car during Storm Éowyn

Gardaí have confirmed that a man was tragically killed in a road traffic incident in Donegal on Friday morning during Storm Éowyn.

Gardaí said that they were alerted to the incident at approximately 5.30am on Friday morning at Feddyglass, Raphoe in County Donegal.

A man was fatally injured after a tree had fallen on his car during the storm. The accident occurred just before the Status Red wind warning came into effect in Donegal.

According to the gardaí, the body of the deceased man remains at the scene at this time.

Gardaí are working with local authorities and third party contractors to facilitate the removal of the remains of the deceased from the scene.

The N14 in Donegal remains closed at this time.

Forensic collision investigators have begun their investigations at the scene of the incident.
