TRAGEDY: Elderly man in his 80s dies in house fire in Cavan
An elderly man's body was recovered from a house fire on the night of Thursday last in Co. Cavan.
Gardaí arrived at the scene in Virginia Co. Cavan at 10pm that night.
A man in his 80's was pronounced dead at the scene and Gardaí have said that they suspect there was "no foul play".
"Investigating gardaí have preserved the scene as they work towards establishing the cause of the fire," a gardaí spokesperson has said.

Gardaí have said that the body was brought to Cavan mortuary and a post mortem examination will be carried out.
"Results of the post mortem and a technical examination of the scene will determine the course of the Garda investigation." gardaí have said.
