Man in his 50s dies after being stung by wasp while cutting hedges
A Man has died in Macroom, Cork after suffering from a suspected allergic reaction to a wasp sting on Tuesday, 5 November.
The 56-year-old was cutting hedges when it was believed he accidently disturbed a wasp nest, leading to him being stung multiple times.
The man returned home where he complained of feeling unwell. He collapsed a short while later causing his family to call emergency services.

An Garda Síochána said that they, along with emergency services, responded to the incident and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is believed that the man died from acute anaphylactic shock. It is understood that he was sadly unaware that he was allergic to wasp stings.
