The driver of a car which was involved in a fatal road crash in County Cork earlier this weekend has been released without charge.
According to gardaí, the fatal incident, involving a single car, occurred shortly after 1.30am on Saturday at Ballynamona, Kinsale, County Cork.
"One of the passengers of the car, a man in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other serious injuries to persons was reported," said a garda spokesperson on Saturday.
The body of the deceased man was later removed from the scene and a post-mortem examination arranged at Cork University Hospital
The driver of the car, a man in his 30s, who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of offences under the Road Traffic Act, has since been released without charge.
"A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions," said a garda spokesperson in an update issued this Sunday morning.

The road at Ballynamona has now fully reopened to traffic following a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.
Investigations are ongoing and gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
"Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were travelling in the Ballynamona area between 1.15am and 1.45am are asked to come forward," said the spokesperson.
