A renowned pedigree cow herd sale in Cavan on Monday saw some famous names appearing in the lots, with one global megastar's name earning top spot in the auction.

Eddie Lynch’s herd, found in Killydoon, Co Cavan, hosted the ‘Ernevalley Emeralds Limousin Production Sale’ via a timed auction, with a heifer named 'Ernevalley Taylorswift' taking the top price in the sale by selling for €9,400 after some fearless bidding.

Described as a cow that never goes out of style, 'Ernevalley TaylorSwift' is a Lexicon daughter that according to its owners "oozes class and femininity".

'TaylorSwift' is also a granddaughter of reportedly the most famous brood cow in the UK, Bankdale Alice, so there was no bad blood in the top spot heifer.

A total of 16 heifers were sold off in the lot, with bidders shaking off low offers to pay thousands for each prized cow.

All of the heifers with the exception of one shared the first letter T in their names, with 'Tutifruity', 'Tipsy', 'Tinsel', 'Tequila' and Toffee all being sold off for thousands of euro. The average selling price for the 16 cows was €4,500.

Earning the third highest price in the lots was 'Tinaturner', who sold for €6,400, narrowly losing out on being simply the best.
