During a checkpoint on the Navan Road, Gardaí have arrested one driver for suspected drink driving.

Roads Policing Units from Dublin's Metropolitan Region set up the checkpoint after the bank holiday weekend.

During the check, they seized two vehicles and arrested one driver.

The driver showed signs of drinking and was given a breath test.

Unfortunately, the test showed they might have been drinking, and the driver was subsequently arrested for further testing.

Gardaí have said: "The driver is to appear before court after failing a further breath test at station."
