Penalty points and fine issued to truck driver caught speeding near Roscommon school

A truck driver has received a fine and penalty points for speeding near a school in Co Roscommon. 

According to An Garda Síochána, officers were carrying out a speed check when they detected the truck travelling 77km/h in a 50km/h zone near a school. 

The road conditions were reportedly "quite poor" due to rainfall. 

The driver received a fine as well as three penalty points.
