Risk of sudden infant death syndrome prompts immediate recall of baby sleeping bags

Popular baby sleeping bags sold online are being recalled due to a risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). 

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), various baby wrap sleeping bags sold on the Ortorex website have been associated with suffocation and SIDS due to the presence of the head covering. 

The brand is Ortorex and the Baby Wrap Sleeping Bags made available were for three age categories – 0-3 months; 6 months; 9 months – in various colours and materials including: 

Blue fleece, brown fleece, bray flannel, gray fleece, khaki flannel, pink flannel, pink fleece, red fleece, white flannel, white fleece, pink, white, and gray. 

The number of affected products in the Republic of Ireland is unknown. 

If you purchased one of these products, please stop use immediately. You may wish to contact Ortorex to see if there are any remedies available to you.
