Newstalk’s Ciara Kelly left shaken after ‘frightening encounter’ with e-scooter

Ciara Kelly revealed she was “quite shaken” after coming “very close to killing” a man on an e-scooter this morning.

The Newstalk Breakfast presenter was driving to work when she had a “frightening encounter” with an e-scooter.

Her co-host, Shane Coleman, encouraged her to tell the story on air this morning.

"I was driving to work this morning and I was coming along a road in Bray - it’s called the Southern Cross. It’s not that badly lit but it’s a biggish road. It’s not like a city street but it’s a big, wide road that leads to the M50,” she said.

“Driving along there, I was almost on top of somebody when I saw them. There was a guy on an e-scooter.

“I know we’ve talked about e-scooters before and they’re an easy target to give out about, but this was somebody who wasn’t on their e-scooter on the side of the road where a cycle lane would be. He was in the middle of the lane,” she said on The Newstalk Breakfast.
