Sixth arrest following double murder at busy restaurant on Christmas Eve

The male teenager is being detained at a garda station in west Dublin

Gardai investigating a violent incident at a restaurant in Dublin on Christmas Eve, in which two people died, have arrested a sixth suspect.

A major garda investigation has been underway since the incident that occurred at a premises at Main Street, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 at around 8pm on December 24.

One of the men died from gunshot wounds while the second sustained serious stab wounds.

A number of suspects are currently before the courts and investigating gardai have now confirmed a sixth arrest was made this Wednesday morning.

"As part of the ongoing investigation into the serious incident at a premises on Main Street, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, on December 24, 2023, gardaí have today arrested a male, aged in his teens, under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997," said a spokesperson.

The male is currently detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

It's understood the latest arrest is in relation to the wider investigation into all of the circumstances surrounding last month's incident.

Separate incident rooms, each led by a Senior Investigating Officer, have been established by gardai.
