A JOINT agency checkpoint in Kildare saw the Naas Roads Policing Unit seize five vehicles, taking action against four unaccompanied learner drivers and a disqualified driver.
The operation, carried out in Carbury, aimed to ensure the safety of road users and enforce compliance with driving regulations.
Four of the seized vehicles belonged to unaccompanied learner drivers, each facing penalties in the form of both points on their licenses and fines.
In a more severe case, the fifth vehicle intercepted during the checkpoint was found to be operated by a disqualified driver. This individual, breaching the terms of their driving disqualification, was promptly arrested by the Naas Roads Policing Unit.
A post uploaded to X, formerly Twitter, by An Garda Síochána showed pictures of the drivers' cars at the scene.
