WATCH: Irish comedian hits nail on head with hilarious description of Ireland's Fittest Family

Irish comedian and podcaster Emma Doran has hit the nail on the head with her latest skit, hilariously describing a much-embellished episode of the hit RTÉ series Ireland's Fittest Family.

The Dublin native has risen through the ranks to become one of Ireland's top comedians in recent years through her comical online sketches, podcasts, TV shows and live stand-up gigs - and now she's taken aim at Ireland's Fittest Family in her latest skit.

Describing an episode of the show, Emma says: "In Ireland’s Fittest Family, the rules are that teenage sons must drag their menopausal mothers through hedges and ditches, and over hay bales and through the swamps.

"After each challenge, the presenter puts a mic in the mother’s face and says, ‘How did you find that, Bridie?’ And Bridie’s on a ventilator.

"After that then they drag their mother around through more challenges. Her limbs are getting dislocated and stuff, and she’s just flopping around, she’s like a rag doll but she asks the producers can she get a little bag of HRT or something just to get her through.

"And they say, ‘No, you’re in the eliminator now.'"

Doran and her family previously took part in the charity 'Celebrity Special' version of the gruelling RTÉ fitness show which aired on St Stephen's Day last year, so she knows first-hand the real struggles of the show despite her light-hearted take.

Emma continues: "She’s completely wrecked. She’s kind of almost dead. But the sons continue to drag her around now she’s just like a bag of sand with spindly little arms and legs.

The comedian then cuts across herself to say, "Sorry I forgot to mention, they f**k her in the water a fair bit as well. And she just keeps f**king falling in the water the whole time.

"And then at the end, they shove the mic in her face again and the sons are just holding her up."

To close out the video in her typical humour, Emma finishes: "And ehh… she’s dead."
