THE 2026 SUMMER concert series at Limerick’s King John’s Castle is set to launch in spectacular style with the announcement of a major international act.
Boston legends, Pixies will make their Limerick debut on Sunday, May 31, 2026, performing a special outdoor show as part of their Pixies 40 world tour.
Celebrating four decades since their formation in 1986, founding members Black Francis, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering, joined by bassist Emma Richardson, will deliver a career-spanning set packed with groundbreaking hits and fan favourites.

Pixies will bring their worldwide tour to the heart of Limerick city, performing an outdoor set against the dramatic backdrop of King John’s Castle.
Speaking at the launch, Mick Dolan said, “We are delighted to welcome Pixies to King John’s Castle as they celebrate 40 years together. This is the first announcement for our King John’s Castle summer shows, and we couldn’t think of a more iconic band to begin with. It’s going to be a night to remember.”
Tickets will go on sale Friday, September 26 at 10am on Ticketmaster.
