"I didn't have to put any thought into signing a contract extension for another two-years. I am delighted to sign on, it's my home. As a young kid growing up I had the privilege of playing for Munster and to come back and coach last year was a huge honour for me."

This was Mossie Lawler's reaction to signing a two-year contract extension with Munster to continue as the Skills coach at the club while also taking on the role of Assistant Attack Coach.

The former UL-Bohemians player  was Elite Player Development Officer with their academy and Head Coach to the Connacht Eagles before joining up with Munster ahead of the 2023/2024 season.

Lawler spoke at the Munster press conference this week about the troubles Munster face now with their injury concerns, especially at scrum-half position with both Craig Casey and Conor Murray out of selection this week ahead of Ulster game this Friday night. The Limerick native stated: "I think at Munster we are blessed with the number nine's we have here at the moment. If you look at our roster Craig, Conor, Paddy and Ethan, any club would bit your hand off for that.

"Hopefully Conor will be back next week but Paddy and Ethan are two top class players and they are biting at the heels of the lads, which only makes then better. The two of them are technically very strong and they make a huge difference when they come onto the field."
