A SECTION of the M7 Motorway in Limerick that had been closed this Wednesday evening due to a collision has now reopened.
The single vehicle collision took place around 6.30pm this Wednesday. It happened just before the Junction 27 exit at Birdhill, travelling northbound on the M7.
The M7 was closed northbound between J28 Castletroy and J27 Birdhill. Five units of Limerick City and Newport fire services attended the scene and were called at 6.40pm.
There were major delays in the area, despite diversions being put in place. The road re-opened after 9pm.
