THERE are major delays in Limerick this Wednesday morning after a collision on the N18 road.
The N18 was closed northbound between Junction 5 Cratloe and Junction 6 Bunratty this morning after a collision, but one lane has since re-opened.
It's understood spot flooding in the area contributed the the incident which resulted in a car leaving the road.
The collision caused delays back to Junction 4 Cratloemoyle and back to the Limerick Tunnel.
One eyewitness said cars were "parked" on the road back to the Radisson Blu Hotel.
While the scene of the accident has been cleared, crews from Clare County Council are working to clear the flood water. Units from Shannon Fire Station are also in attendance.
AA Roadwatch said: "One lane reopened n/bound between J5 Cratloe and J6 Bunratty following a collision. Delays are back to J4 Cratloemoyle."
