Teenager in hospital with serious injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car

A young man in his late teens is being treated for serious injuries in hospital after his motorcycle collided with a car.

Gardaí are investigating the serious road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 9pm on Monday, May 13 on Courtown Drive in Cork city.

The teenage motorcyclist was taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

No other injuries to any other person was reported.

Courtown Drive is currently closed with local diversions in place and a technical examination is being conducted at the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Courtown Drive area between 8:45pm and 9:15pm on Monday 13th May 2024 are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
