'Raw' performance from Limerick rapper for TG4 series

Hazey Haze on stage on Dolan's

LIMERICK city native and rapper Hazey Haze will feature in a TG4 series this May with “Limerick Irish esque” performance.

The artist took part in Buille, a brand-new and “edgy” music show filmed in front of a live audience in Dolan's.

The series shine a light on some of the most talented and diverse musicians in Ireland today.

A mainstay of the Limerick rap scene with a dedicated following in his native Limerick, the rapper joined the city’s legendary PX Music collective in 2018. Since then, he has released multiple projects, including his debut album Is Mise, 2020’s Pignorant and then, most recently, Epitome in 2021.

His latest album features guest vocals from   artists Seán O’Meara and Denise Chaila.

Speaking of his Buille performance, Hazey Haze told the Limerick Leader: “Performing for Buille was honestly such a great experience, we were treated very well on the day and getting to see how it all works behind the scenes was very interesting to say the least.”

He added: “I did some old and some new tracks and spoken word, I kept it very Limerick-Irish-esque with the topic and song choice. It's a really raw performance, I was satisfied with it on the day, which is alien for me and to be honest I can't wait to see it myself.”

Quite the busy bee, the rapper, who describes his music as “relatable and punctual,” is currenty working on new material that “should see the light of the day” by the end of 2023.

“I’ve a couple of summer singles too packed away waiting for the T-shirt and shorts weather,” he said.

Recently, Hazey Haze released a new mixtape titled Milk and Honey, which was produced by Danny Lanham – for now, the track is only available on Bandcamp.

At the end of this year, he will also release an EP with Mankyy, titled Shy Boii Gets No Sweets.

His next performance will be at Wild Roots Festival on Saturday, June 3.
In the meantime, he advised fans to keep their eyes peeled as he has a couple of music videos “that need releasing too.”
