Treaty United to change jersey colours ahead of the 2024 season

TREATY UTD will change the colour of their home jersey ahead of the 2024 season. 

The club's Senior and Carelon Academy sides will wear a blue home strip for the 2024 season. The move sees Treaty United line out in the colour that is most generally associated with the long, storied history of Senior football in Limerick.

The origins of Limerick Senior football saw sides line out in red-and-white striped jerseys in 1937, something which Treaty United have paid homage to in the club's first four seasons of football.

However, a change to blue jerseys from August 1943 onwards has seen the colour become closely linked with Senior football in Limerick, and the club have acted on the wishes of supporters by changing the home kit colours going forward.

Speaking about the jersey colour change, CEO Ciara McCormack spoke about how important it was to listen to fans and how it was ultimately their opinions that led to the the change.

“One of the things that we have said, and was most important to us coming in, was that we wanted to give local fans a voice. The home strip being blue was a loud message we heard and with this in mind we are excited to have Treaty wear blue at home for the 2024 season.”

This change in home kit colours marks the start of an exciting countdown to the 2024 SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division season kicking off on Friday, February 16, when Treaty United take on Cobh Ramblers at 7:45PM in the Markets Field.

The club will also launch a new home kit which Treaty United Senior Men’s Manager Tommy Barrett has described as
the “best designed Limerick Senior soccer kits that I have seen."

The new home kit will be previewed at the 2024 season launch of SSE Airtricity League of Ireland which takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, February 7.
