Limerick players named in Munster Development side to face Ireland U20s

A MUNSTER Development side will face Ireland U20s in Musgrave Park at 1pm today, Friday

The match forms part of a double-header with the Clovers taking on the Wolfhounds in the Celtic Challenge at 4pm. 

Head Coach Tommy O’Donnell has named a 24-man squad for the clash with Academy players George Hadden, Darragh McSweeney, Ethan Coughlan, Daniel Okeke and Jack Oliver all included in the matchday squad. 

Hadden, who plays his AIL rugby with Garryowen, starts at loosehead where he will be joined by Cork Constitution’s Danny Sheahan and Shannon’s Darragh McSweeney in the front-row. Sheahan and McSweeney both played their schools rugby with PBC.

Kamil Nowak and Conor Ryan form the second-row partnership. Nowak plays his club rugby with Cork Constitution while he also played his schools rugby with CBC. Ryan plays for UCC and came up through the age-grade ranks with Clonakilty RFC.

In the back-row, David Nowak and Jacob Sheahan starts at blindside and openside respectively. David Nowak plays his club rugby with Cork Constitution and played his schools rugby with CBC.

Jacob Sheahan plays his club rugby with UCC while he played his schools rugby with PBC. UCC’s Sean Edogbo, younger brother of Munster Academy second-row Edwin, starts at number eight. Edogbo came up through the ranks with Cobh Pirates RFC.

UL-Bohemian’s Jake O’Riordan starts at scrum-half where he is joined by the Munster Academy’s Ethan Coughlan at out-half. O’Riordan played his schools rugby with St Munchin’s while Coughlan is currently playing for Shannon RFC and came up through the ranks with Ennis RFC.

The centre partnership sees Gordon Wood, who captains the side, line out at inside centre where he is joined by Cian O’Halloran at 13. Wood currently plays for Garryowen while O’Halloran plays his AIL rugby with Shannon. Wood and Long played their schools rugby with St Munchin’s College and Crescent College Comprehensive. 

The back-three is made of Young Munster’s Oisín Pepper, UCC’s Sean Condon and Shannon’s Stephen Kiely. Pepper, Condon and Kiely played their schools rugby with St Munchin’s, PBC and Castletroy College respectively.
