MIKE Quilligan and Sean Kiely have stepped down from their roles as Limerick ladies football joint-managers. Quilligan and Kiely were in charge of the Limerick ladies football teams for two years.
During their term, the Shannonsiders achieved promotion from Division four into Division three.Limerick missed out on qualfying for the knockout stages of the Junior Football Championship and they retained their Division 3 status this year.
Clare native Patrick O'Connor has been announced as the new manager of the Limerick ladies football team for the 2026 season.O'Connor led Kilmurry-Ibricknane to their first ever Clare senior ladies football championship title when they defeated Doora Barefield 3-8 to 1-13 in last year's county final.

Former Limerick U20 football manager Shane Kelly has been announced as coach of the Limerick ladies football team.
Kelly was part of the Fr Casey's backroom team last year that saw the Abbeyfeale side reach the county final in 2024 where they came up short against Adare.
Newcastle West's Kelly was a selector under Billy Lee's Limerick senior footballers and he has coached at club level across the county, previously with Gerald Griffins, St Senans and Newcastle West.
Limerick will begin their Lidl Division 3 National Football League campaign on January 25 and their league campaign will then come to an end on the weekend of the March 29. The Shannonsiders will play seven league games in Division 3.
The top two teams at the end of the league will face off in the Division 3 league final on Sunday April 12. Meanwhile, the Munster championship begins on the weekend of May 2/3 and the junior championship will then commence for Limerick on May 31.
Limerick senior champions St Ailbe's will play in the Munster Intermediate championship quarter-final against Moycarkey-Borris on the weekend of October 18 in a Tipperary venue. Fr Casey’s will now compete in the Munster Championship at the junior grade, with Mike Brosnahan’s side set to face Cork champions Doheny’s in the quarter-final on the weekend of October 18 at a Limerick venue.
