THE Limerick ladies footballers advanced to a second successive Munster Senior ‘B’ championship final with an emphatic victory over Cork ‘B’ in Ballyvourney on Saturday evening last.

The Shannonsiders’ ran out convincing 2-12 to 0-10 winners to set up a chance for the side to win back-to-back provincial senior ‘B’ titles.

Limerick's reward is not only a chance to retain their title later this month but also to gain revenge against final opponents Clare for their defeat to a last gasp goal in the opening round of the group stages.

Limerick will be hopeful that the possibility of a provincial title can help them in their bid for an All-Ireland Junior title. Limerick Ladies joint-manager Seán Kiely is looking forward to the final later in May.

“We've a final to look forward to now in a few weeks time, a lot of headaches ahead trying to put a starting team together. It's very hard to know our starting team because week on week all of the girls are pushing for a starting spot which is what you need if you're going to succeed.”

The Limerick manager is also delighted with the amount of games that his side has played in preparation for this year's provincial final and possible All-Ireland run.

“It's massive the games we've played, I was here in years where you didn't have that and it was an absolute disaster to be honest, it was disheartening but to have these games and a Munster final to look forward to is perfect preparation for the All-Ireland series,” he said.
