THE LIMERICK senior hurlers are back in action this weekend.Limerick take on great rivals Tipperary in a special challenge game in support of the Dillon Quirke Foundation on Saturday evening at 6pm in Fethard Town Park.
The event was established in honour of the late Dillon Quirke who collapsed and died of sudden adult death syndrome (SADS) on August 5, 2022 in Semple Stadium Thurles.
Through Champions Under Lights, Fethard Town Park aims to raise much needed funds to raise awareness of SADS and fund widespread cardiac screening for young people (aged 13-17) involved in sport.
The game between John Kiely's Limerick side and All-Ireland champions Tipperary will take place as part of the inaugural Champions Under Lights which will also see All-Ireland champions Kerry face Tipperary in a football game at 4pm. Tickets are available to buy on eventbrite.ie.
After Christmas, Limerick will be C0-Op Superstores Munster Senior Hurling League action.The Shannonsiders take on Clare in Tulla on Saturday January 3 at 2pm in the Munster senior hurling league. Four days later, the Shannonsiders will host Cork in the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Wednesday January 7 at 7:35pm.
