LIMERICK have advanced to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final on July 7 at Croke Park after winning an historic sixth successive Munster senior hurling title.
John Kiely's side have been rewarded with a place in the last four of the All-Ireland SHC. Limerick can now watch the preliminary quarter-finals and quarter-finals unfold over the next two weekends.
Both preliminary quarter finals take place this Saturday this Saturday June 15 where Cork take on Joe McDonagh Cup winners Offaly and Wexford face Laois. The winners of both of those games will face the losing provincial finalists Dublin or Clare in the All-Ireland quarter final on June 22.
Limerick can face a number of teams in the All-Ireland semi-final but two teams they cannot face are Clare and Kilkenny. The reigning Munster champions will either face Laois, Offaly, Wexford, Dublin or Cork.
Limerick have played their best hurling in Croke Park in the last five years.
It is expected that Sean Finn and Seamus Flanagan could return from injury for Limerick's next outing. Darragh O'Donovan and Richie English returned from injury last Sunday and were part of Limerick's 26-man panel for last weekend's Munster final.
