Council issues urgent warning to public as Storm Hannah hits Limerick this weekend

LIMERICK City and County Council said that it is monitoring the progression of Storm Hannah as brings one of the most torrential weather conditions so far this year.

Met Eireann has issued a Status Orange wind warning for Limerick, Clare, Cork and Kerry and is valid from Friday 4pm until 5am on Saturday.

A spokesperson for Limerick City and County Council is “monitoring the situation very closely and is urging motorists to drive with caution especially during the dark hours of the warning as the wind may have resulted in routes being blocked.

“The local authority is also urging people to stay away from exposed coasts and river banks due to the high winds.”

Limerick City and County Council has also been in contact with the HSE and Gardaí, part of the #LKWorkingTogether group, ahead of the arrival of Strom Hannah.
