Driver found speeding on Limerick motorway had 'unrestrained' baby in car

Gardai detected driver speeding while baby was 'unrestrained' on Limerick motorway

GARDAI have detected a driver speeding over the legal limit on a Limerick motorway while his or her baby was “unrestrained” in the car.

Gardai said that the driver was detected driving at 143km/h in a 120km/h zone on the M7 in Limerick this week.

“On further inspection, 8 month old infant unrestrained (no car seat) along with 2 rear-seat passengers not wearing seat belts.

“This driver will soon receive a court date as it is above the threshold for a fixed charge notice.”
