ADAPT Domestic Abuse Service has partnered with Limerick Court Services to provide a free and confidential information and referral service to women who are experiencing domestic abuse and who wish to apply for legal protection.

This service is currently available every Monday in Limerick Courthouse in Merchant’s Quay and can be accessed simply by asking at reception or one of the court clerks. It is also available on Tuesday mornings from 10am to 11am in the Criminal Court on Mulgrave Street.

“What we are doing is launching our information and support services for women who have experienced domestic violence and a re looking to seek legal recourse,” Denise Dunne

“They may be applying for one of the orders. A protection order, a safety order or a barring order. What we have here, is every Monday, we have a support staff person here on site in the court who can meet with the women and actually talk them through the process and support them in court as well,” she added.
