A LIMERICK train driver is on track to win a small fortune when he appears on Winning Streak this weekend.

Adrian Murphy will appear on the National Lottery Winning Streak TV game show on RTÉ One this Saturday night.

The Clarina man had finished his shift as a train driver when he turned his phone on and saw a number of messages and missed calls from his mother two Saturdays ago. After returning her call she had told him that his name had been pulled out to appear on the show.

The Limerick man couldn’t believe his luck until he got home and watched the programme back with his wife, Antoinette, on the RTE Player.

Married for seven years this September the couple have three children - Rebecca, Sam and Billy - who are all looking forward to shouting for their dad to spin the wheel this weekend.

Adrian is a sports nut and a huge Munster Rugby and Liverpool FC fan and also loves horse racing. With his winnings from the show Adrian says he might change his car but says that the most important thing on his shopping list is an Optimus Prime Transformer robot toy for little Billy.

The Winning Streak National Lottery game show, co-presented by Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy, will feature some perennial favorite games as well but also brand new games including Play or Pay, Roll for Riches, WinFall and Electric Dream – where one player will win an electric car worth €25,000.

As ever one of the lucky five players will get the chance to spin the wheel and win up to €500,000. This series a new €100,000 segment will be added to the iconic Grand Prize Wheel every show if less than that was won in the previous show, improving players chances to win a massive prize.

Winning Streak will be broadcast on RTÉ One this Saturday at 8.25pm.
