The Cleeve’s Car Park will open from 9am to 9pm every day from Friday December 7 up to and including New Year’s Eve
THE RE-INTRODUCTION of the Park and Stride initiative providing up to 400 free parking spaces for the Christmas season in Limerick has been welcomed by a local councillor.
Limerick City and County Council are to reintroduce the parking initiative from December 7.
“This is good news for City Businesses and Christmas Shoppers,” councillor Elenora Hogan said.
“There will be three locations in the City providing up to 400 free parking spaces,” she added.
“I hope that people will avail of these 400 plus free parking spaces, and come in and enjoy the Christmas Festivities being provided by Limerick City and County Council on the streets of the city.”
The Cleeve’s Car Park will open from 9am to 9pm every day from Friday December 7 up to and including New Year’s Eve, and will provide spaces for 220 cars.
The Staff Car Park behind City Hall will also be available for parking for up to 80 cars on three weekends in December - December, 8 and 9, 15 and 16 and 22 and 23.
Opening hours will be from 9am to 9pm and this Car Park will also be available on Christmas Eve.
A new addition this year is the provision of space for 120 cars by Irish Rail at its site on the Roxboro Road. It will be open from 9am to 9pm on both December 8 and 9, and from December 15 to 24. In addition Park and Ride will be available at the South Court Hotel - lower Car Park, on December 8,9, 16, 22 and 23.
Public transport is available at the Raheen Roundabout to bring shoppers into the City Centre. UL are also making their car park adjacent to the Stables available to the public on 8th and 9th December 8,9,15 16, 22 and 23.
